Born in 1967 in Montevideo, he has studied percussion with Prof. Jorge Camiruaga at the Escuela Universitaria de Música, with Enrique Cotelo and with some of the best popular drummers of Uruguay, Miguel Romano, José Luis Perez, y Fernando "Lobo" Nuñez.

He's Solo Timpanist with the Banda Sinfónica Municipal de la Ciudad de Montevideo, since 1993, and Assistant Professor of Percussion at the Escuela Universitaria de Música since 1990.

Member of the Montevideo Percussion Ensamble - PERCEUM , with whom he has premiered music specially written for the Ensamble and has brought to audiences in and out of his country hundreds of works for contemporary percussion.

He has been a member of the Jeuneusses Musicales World Orchestra and the Jeuneusses Musicales Latin American Orchestra, founder of the Orquesta Juvenil José Artigas and member of the Percussive Arts Society.

He also keeps busy as a drummer/percussionist with some of the most prominent popular artists of his city. He has played/recorded with Fernando Cabrera, Jorge Schellemberg, Osvaldo Fattoruso y Mariana Ingold, Patakín Salsa na'ma', Claudio Taddei, Fernando Ulivi, Ruben Rada, Hugo Fattoruso, Coco Fernandez, Liese Lange, Emil Mongomery, Delanuka, Troupe Ateniense, Ballet del Plata, and La Tin Banda, among many others.
